Arundel Local Attractions
Set amid the Sussex Downs, in the historic town of Arundel, with the Duke
of Norfolk's home, Arundel Castle nestled on the hillside, The St Mary's
Gate Inn offers the business person and visitor a welcoming and relaxed
atmosphere. Arundel is an ideal town in which to stay to explore the
wonderful Sussex Downs and the superb Sussex coastline, with places to
visit such as Bognor Regis, Brighton, Chichester and Worthing all within
easy reach.
There are many interesting things to do and see such as, if you are a race goer,
Goodwood Races and Fontwell Races are both nearby with regular meets (don't
miss Glorious Goodwood in July/August each year!). Or take a stroll around
Goodwood House and visit the festival of speed held at Goodwood Motor Racing
Circuit each year. Or you could take a nice quiet boat ride along the River
Arun and visit the Wild Fowl Trust, followed by a pub lunch. Or enjoy all of
the local history and visit Arundel Castle, which is open between April and
October. You can also look around Arundel's superb Cathedral which is right next
door to us.
