Arundel Castle

First built by the Romans, it was acquired in the 16th century and is still owned today by the Duke of Norfolk, the country’s leading Catholic family. The castle is open April until October from Tuesday to Sunday.

Arundel Cathedral and Church

The Catholic cathedral of st Philip Howard was built in the 19th Century, (without bells). The parish church of St Nicholas is Church of England but is unusual in that it has a small catholic chapel built into the East end. This castle can only be accessed through the Castle and is the Norfolk’s private family chapel. Both the cathedral and the church are open daily, all year round.
